Projects

Some questions are too big for an essay. They need something a reader can use, turn over, and argue with. This page is where I put those: working tools I have built to make an idea testable rather than only readable. Each one is finished enough to use and open enough to keep revising. Alongside them are the ventures I have built to solve problems I could not stop thinking about.

Denominational Alignment Assessment

Twenty questions about authority, grace, sacrament, and how a congregation should be governed, scored against twenty-five Christian traditions. It returns where your answers actually land, what separates your top result from the runner-up, and how confident that reading is.

It does not tell you what to believe, and it has no view on which tradition is right. It describes alignment, which is a smaller and more useful thing. Everything runs in your browser, and no answer is sent anywhere or stored.

About six minutes. No sign-in, no email, nothing collected.

Biblical Literacy

An interactive map, timeline, and database of the biblical text, built so that a reader can see where a story sits: who else was alive, which empire was pressing on the border, and how many years stand between one account and the next.

The hard part is chronology, which no one has yet published as sourced, confidence-scored data. Where four scholars date a reign four different ways, this one draws all four.

In build. Map, crosswalk, and divided-monarchy chronology working; publication pending a hand audit.

Jubilee Safari

A US company with its own team in Kenya that plans private Kenya safaris and cultural trips. Michelle Ngila and I co-founded it as our invitation to share the soul of Kenya, the country I keep going back to.

Every trip makes time for people as well as wildlife: a Maasai village visit, a cooking class in a family home, an afternoon at Umoja Women’s Village.

Private trips from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara, Amboseli and the coast. jubileesafari.com

Sober House Directory

A national directory of recovery housing. Search for sober living online and treatment centers fill the results, many claiming to offer sober living while selling treatment. The Sober House Directory lists sober homes only.

It is a project of the Vanderburgh Foundation, built alongside Vanderburgh Sober Living, and every operator is listed on equal terms.

No treatment centers, no halfway houses, no paid placement. soberhousedirectory.com
